IEEE VIS 2014 (formerly VisWeek)
Est organisé à Paris (http://ieeevis.org/)

CALL FOR PAPERS & PARTICIPATION

9 - 14 NOVEMBER, 2014
PARIS, FRANCE

9TH IEEE VISUAL ANALYTICS SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE
20TH IEEE INFORMATION VISUALIZATION CONFERENCE
25th IEEE SCIENTIFIC VISUALIZATION CONFERENCE

Co-located Symposia and Workshops:
LARGE-SCALE DATA ANALYSIS AND VISUALIZATION (LDAV) SYMPOSIUM
VISUALIZATION FOR CYBER SECURITY (VizSec) WORKSHOP
NOVEL EVALUATION METHODS FOR VISUALIZATION (Beliv) WORKSHOP
(others to be announced soon)

IEEE VIS 2014 is the premier forum for advances in visualization.
The event-packed week brings together researchers and practitioners
from academia, government, and industry to explore their shared
interests in tools, techniques, and technology. We invite you to
participate in IEEE Visual Analytics Science and Technology, IEEE
Information Visualization, and IEEE Scientific Visualization by sharing
your research, insights, experience, and enthusiasm.

CO-LOCATED SYMPOSIA
The 5th IEEE Symposium on Large-Scale Data Analysis and
Visualization (LDAV) aims at bringing together domain scientists, data
analytics and visualization researchers, and users, and fostering the
needed exchange to develop the next-generation data-intensive analysis
and visualization technology. Visit ldav.org <http://ldav.org/> for more
information.

Other symposia will be announced soon!

PRE-APPROVED WORKSHOPS
The 11th IEEE Visualization for Cyber Security Symposium (VizSec)
aims at bringing together researchers and practitioners in
information visualization and security to address the specific needs of
the cyber security community through new and insightful visualization
techniques. Visit www.vizsec.org <http://www.vizsec.org/> for more
information.

The BELIV workshop series (http://www.beliv.org <http://www.beliv.org/>)
is a bi-annual event focusing on the challenges of evaluation in
visualization. The commonly used evaluation metrics such as task time
completion and number of errors appear insufficient to quantify the
quality of a visualization system; BELIV 2014 aims at gathering
researchers in all fields of visualization to continue the exploration
of novel evaluation methods, and to structure the knowledge on
evaluation in visualization around a schema, where researchers can
easily identify unsolved problems and
research gaps.

The VAST Contest will provide realistic problems and datasets
to showcase the effectiveness of tools and methods in the domain of
visual analytics. The contest collects several entries of varying
complexity, aimed at allowing students, researchers, practitioners, and
industry to benchmark their tools in a replicated way.

LOCATION

To celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2014, IEEE VIS comes for the
first time in its history to Europe and the city of Paris, acknowledging
the growing role of European research on visualization. Paris is
a spectacular setting, combining the dynamic character of
multicultural modern Europe with historical relics and monuments
spanning over 2000 years. Curious visitors can explore the city's
countless museums, galleries, and public spaces, while gastronomes will
delight in Paris's extraordinary selection of restaurants. Located at
the center of Western Europe, Paris is reachable from all major
international airports. The conference venue is also conveniently
located next to public transportation and accessible from all of the
city's main airports and train stations.

The conference will be located at the downtown Marriott
Rive-Gauche, close to the main train line connecting the two airports of
Paris.
